Most all of the portable power supplies I have found don't give you a constant 13.8V DC output, and don't give a DC output over 10 amps. I wanted something radio operators need for some of their power supply needs. So, this setup is capable of up to 25 amps of power at a regulated, approx., 13.8 VDC. If you are going to build the same thing, you can make it how you want. I used remnant "free" wood pieces to make the housing. And wood was easy for me to work with as I don't have any metal working tools. But, I hope this gives you an idea for your own build, and knowledge of what components will work.
