Exotropia is a condition of the eyes where one of the eye is squinted outwards. So one eye is looking straight ahead, the other would be squinted outside and this condition is called as exotropia. Exotropia is a problem which occurs due to muscle imbalance in the eye. There are about 6 muscles which control the eye and any imbalance in these muscles or any imbalance in the nerves of the muscles can lead to exotropia. This can happen also due to change of glasses or any power within the eye, that is myopia or hypermetropia. Such things cannot be cured either by eye drops or by tablets or by any kind of medicines. The treatment will mainly lie in the form of either glasses or exercises or surgeries.
