Information: Welcome back to another video guys! Today we head to greenfield village for there motor muster event for Father’s Day weekend. This weekend was a very special one. All 3 Steam Locomotives were fired up. Torch and Edison ran. And 7 was testing for brake because it was having issues with that. I didn’t get 7 idling in the beginning because it was an unexpected engine to see running that day lol. But anyways motor muster was fantastic this year. I loved seeing all the cars there and had a blast. Edison was not even gonna run. Edison was planned for a boiler wash but when 7 broke. They decided to take edison out one more time before they actually begin the boiler wash for 30 days. Torch lake is expected to get some heavy maintenance done after motor muster. 7 will continue running for the village until it goes in. 1225 ran a train on June 15th but did not go because of baseball that day. And 152 is just doing fine. More information about the locomotives later. Bye! Information about 7, Torch Lake, & Edison Edison is based on an 0-4-0 switcher locomotive built about 1870 by Manchester Locomotive Works. Henry Ford purchased the switcher from Edison Portland Cement Company in 1932. Mr. Ford had the locomotive rebuilt into a 4-4-0 wheel arrangement by staff at Ford Motor Company's Rouge locomotive shop. Edison later went into regular service on Greenfield Village's railroad. Torch Lake, built by Mason Machine Works in 1873, hauled ore for the Calumet and Hecla Mining Company on Michigan's Keweenaw Peninsula. The engine is an articulated design. The driving wheels pivot under the boiler, allowing the locomotive to handle sharp curves. Torch Lake joined The Henry Ford's collection in 1969. This 4-4-0 American-type locomotive pulled passenger trains on the Detroit & Lima Northern Railway, a predecessor of the Detroit, Toledo & Ironton Railroad. The 4-4-0, with four leading wheels, four driving wheels, and no trailing wheels, was a popular design on 19th century U.S. railroads. Its small size and light weight were well suited to rough track.
