This is the story of how I designed and 3D-printed a custom body kit for my friend Kevin who live 200 km away from me. Kevin has had his 1995 Honda Integra for over five years, and now he’s finally wanted to turn it into a time attack machine. He asked me if I could help make a custom body kit, and, well… you already know how that went. To get the car track-ready, a lot needs to be done—coilovers, aero set up, weight reduction—but I’ll save that for another video. The body kit was essential because we needed to fit wider tires and lower the car significantly, meaning parts of the stock fenders had to be trimmed. Kevin wanted a design inspired by BTCC race cars (British Touring Car Championship) with a touch of Porsche 911 GT3 RS elements—including louvered vents and a vertical flap behind the front wheel arch. That one phrase—Time Attack Integra GT3 RS—was all I needed to get started. After some back-and-forth, we locked in a square fender flare design that fully covers the tire profile from the front view. We also added vented openings behind the wheel arches to relieve air pressure and improve aerodynamics. 3D Printing the front fender went smoothly. The second fender? An absolute nightmare. The print was massive, and on top of that, my filament jammed three times. At 1 AM, I was swearing at my printer, questioning my life choices, and realizing I had only six hours left before I had to hit the road. Somehow, despite all the setbacks, I got the prints done, packed up, and headed to Montreal. And now, here we are—delivering a fully custom 3D-printed body kit prototype in just five days. I can’t wait to see how it all fits on the car! 🔧 Subscribe for more custom body kit content from show body kit to functional body kit! 💬 Let me know in the comments—what car should I build next?
