The final chapter of the The Unofficial Planetside 2 Lore Backstory Timeline, entitled 'Extreme Measures to Endless War (2845-2895)' narrated by me and set to the Planetside 2 soundtrack (and Bear McCreary's Battlestar Galactica soundtrack) with a gallery of sci-fi images in the background. A lot of the music is taken from the Planetside 2 soundtrack composed by Jeff Broadbent. The drum-like song that starts during 'Descent into Madness' is called 'Storming New Caprica' and is composed by Bear McCreary, from the Battlestar Galactica Season 4 album. The images come from too many sources to mention but I am happy to give the source of any particular image, or remove them on request from the copyright holder. I am in no way associated with Sony Online Entertainment LLC. The script for this is not official Planetside 2, and was written by me. The images and background music are not owned by me, and the images and music are not being used for commercial purposes. The audio was recorded using Audacity and the video was edited using VSDC free video editing software. Why did I bother making this video and writing a timeline? In the official lore there is a massive 175-year gap between landing on Auraxis and the outbreak of the War. Many things we take for granted in the game are not explained in the official backstory: the warpgates, respawning technology, the rise of the Vanu Sovereignty, the origin of Nanite Systems, and many more. So I decided to try and fill in the backstory with some ideas of my own, as you can see here! I hope that one day SOE will decide it is worth the time and money to explore the backstory of the Planetside 2 universe, as I feel there is a lot of potential for epic stories to come out of this universe. If done right, this could inspire thousands of more new players to join the game, and add great depth to the gaming experience for everybody else!
