Dinghy saiboats are usually between 6 and 20 feet long. Great for beginners because it's easy to maneuver and not that heavy. It has a very straightforward design with a single mast that are designed for easy handling. These type of smallboats are used for recreational sailing or racing. According to the Minisail Class Association website: "The Minisail was conceived in 1959 as more or less a Sailing Surfboard. It was established as a semi-development class throughout the 60s and 70s, with a number of significant variations appearing. However, it disappeared from the scene in the early 80s, leaving various examples scattered around, often seemingly abandoned. The well-known Topper is a development of the Minisail, and there are many similarities between them. However, the Minisail is much more of a racing boat at heart with a much larger sail, two feet longer yet roughly the same weight (min weight for the Minisail is 95lbs, though few were ever that light in reality). The sail areas below are those quoted by the sailmaker/builder - see the Sails page for info on dimensions, which indicate that in reality the sail area is around 6m2." #minisail #dinghysailing #sailboat #solosailing #sailingdinghy #smallboat #boat #beginnerssailing #learninghowtosail
