See here: https://www.electric-outboard.co.uk/i... for the full in depth review. A lovely, but ditheringly cold day – we had to spend around ten minutes clearing most of the ice out of the boat! The Temo 1000 is a 1kw electric outboard motor with a 940wh battery (so it will run for 55 minutes on full throttle) that has a streamlines rudder shape containing the removable battery cassette. It has numerous interesting and useful design features: the removable cassette battery means that you can swap out batteries easily if you keep a spare on board, doubling your range between charges the transom bracket can swivel a full 360 degrees so mounting the motor safely from inside the boat is simplicity itself the rudder shaped body enables very fine steering even without the motor running very lightweight and removing the battery means handling the 10kg body and 5kg battery could not be easier We set off from Fortuna pontoon to go out into the Solent for a 3 mile (almost exactly) round trip as it turned out, to see how the Temo 1000 would perform with the quiet heavy Rigiflex safety boat. It was a very calm day and we started off pootling along at under 120w which would give around 7.5 hours duration at a speed of around 2.5 knots so around 19.5 nautical miles range! We went up to around 200w and travelled at around 2.9 knots so we would expect around 13.5 nautical mile range. At 500w we were averaging around 3.6 knots so around 6.5 nautical mile range. At full power we are pulling over 1000 watts so around 55 minutes duration and 3.6 nautical miles at 4.1 knots. The Temo 1000 is incredibly easy to use and can fit on anything from a tiny tender, through small ribs to sport / day boats. The steering can be locked in the straight-ahead position so you can steer using the tiller and rudder of your sport boat and then easily stow it up out of the way when you are racing or carry it forward for better weight balance. It is very light and easy to carry around and fitting to the boat is a breeze in total safety from inside the boat with no need to lean out. Charging the Temo 1000 can be achieved easily and quickly using a mains or 12v charger and will take around 4.5 hours from totally flat. All in all, we think this is a really excellent addition to the range of electric outboards we offer and has unique features that make it really stand out.
