This is quite enough to run Gingerbread without any issues. In general the screen animations and transitions are not as smooth as you would expect. What I really mean is that it is not super buttery like in the later versions of Android, such as Ice Cream Sandwich and Jelly Bean. Hopefully with future updates, the device would have an improved performance. The display of the Samsung Galaxy S Advance is a 4 inch Super AMOLED screen packing 480 x 800 pixels. Thus the pixel density of the device sets to about 233 ppi which is quite good and in fact better than the pixel density of S II (217 ppi). This is because S Advance is packing more pixels in a smaller screen as compared to the S II. For the end user this just means better appearance and lesser pixilation. The camera in the Samsung Galaxy S Advance is a 5MP shooter that takes impressively nice photos and shoots 720p high definition video at 30 fps. The stock camera app is standard as in other Samsung Galaxy smartphone devices, so no surprises there! I will upload sample pictures and sample videos so that you guys have a better idea of what this camera is actually capable of. The device runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread and layered on top with Samsung's TouchWiz interface. TouchWiz performance is just average since its running off 768MB RAM and a low clock dual core processor (comparing it to the 1.2 GHz dual core processor in the S II). I noticed a lag in the screen transitions and that can get annoying at times. However, it is not something that you would often complain about. Launching applications, playing music, watching HD movies and playing games is quick and easy. The 1500mAh battery pack that is housed in the device is enough to power the device through out the day. You can have multiple email accounts and social media accounts on sync, active wi-fi and GPS radios, constant use of multiple messengers and an hour's worth of talking through out the day and you would still be left with 20% charge by the end of the evening. With brightness set to auto, you can actually derive the above stated usage pattern and still not drain the whole of your battery.
