수도권 광역급행철도(GTX)는 서울시와 경기도 등 수도권 주요 지점을 연결하는 대심도 광역급행철도이다. GTX는 수도권 교통난을 해소하고 환경비용을 절감하며 장거리 통근자의 교통복지를 제고하기 위하여 추진하고 있다. GTX사업은 수도권 외곽지역에서 주요 거점을 30분대로 연결하는 철도망을 구축하는 것이다. GTX 노선은 A, B, C, D노선으로 구성되며, 파주-삼성역-동탄 구간의 A노선이 우선 착공되어 2023년 년말에 개통할 예정이다. GTX사업은 장차 수도권의 장거리 통행을 개선하고 시민의 삶의 질을 향상시켜서 수도권의 글로벌 경쟁력울 향상시킬 것이다. Great Train Express (GTX) is a large-scale metropolitan express railway that connects major points in the Seoul metropolitan area (SMA). GTX is being promoted to solve traffic problems in the metropolitan area, reduce environmental costs, and improve the transportation welfare of long-distance commuters. GTX project is to build a rail network that connects major bases in the outskirts of the SMA within 30 minutes. GTX line consists of lines A, B, C, and D, and the A line in the Paju-Samsung Station-Dongtan section will be first constructed and opened by the end of 2023. GTX project will improve the long-distance traffic in SMA and improve the quality of life of citizens, thereby enhancing the global competitiveness of SMA.
