Playing along to the song "High Time We Went" by Joe Cocker. This song is from his 4th album "Joe Cocker" released in 1972. In some places I see it called the "Something to Say" album, I guess to distinguish it from the 2nd album, also named "Joe Cocker". This is my favorite Joe Cocker album. It's loaded with great songs: "Pardon Me Sir", "High Time We Went", "Black Eyed Blues", "Midnight Rider", "Woman to Woman", and "St James Infirmary", plus 3 others. This album seems to be out of print now, which I find surprising since it includes so many of his best songs. Also surprisingly, Billboard says it charted at number 30. From my recollection, many of these songs were played quite frequently on Detroit radio when it came out, especially "Woman to Woman". Anyway, I was planning on doing a different Cocker song, but it was 8 minutes long. A friend (Paul W.) has been wanting to hear some Joe Cocker, so I went with this one, my favorite of all my favorite Joe Cocker songs. I did 3 takes and went with the last one. There are 3 drummers named on this album, Jim Keltner and Alan White played on the studio tracks, and Contad Isidore played on the 2 live tracks on the album. I'm not sure if Keltner or White played on this track, but they are both superstar drummers who have played with the best of the best. And let's not forget the OUTSTANDING keyboard playing on this album by Chris Stainton, who co-wrote many of these songs with Joe. Video recorded Friday evening, February 13, 2026.
