To mark International Women’s Day, South Derbyshire District Council is launching its very first podcast episode, featuring a conversation with our Executive Directors about leadership, confidence and career journeys. In this episode, Clare Hitchings, Communications and Engagement Manager, is joined by: • Tracy Bingham – Executive Director - Resources and Transformation • Alison (Ali) Bennett – Executive Director - Place and Prosperity • Ardip Sandhu – Executive Director - Law and People Together they share their experiences of working in local government, reflecting on their leadership journeys, overcoming imposter syndrome, and the importance of culture, mentorship and confidence in the workplace. The discussion also includes questions from colleagues across the organisation, covering topics such as starting a career in local government, balancing personal development with a busy job, and advice for the next generation of leaders. This special episode celebrates the incredible contributions of women in leadership and the progress made over the last century, while encouraging others to believe in themselves and take opportunities when they arise.
