Affettuoso (09:55) Johannes Przygodda – cello Fiona Robson – basso continuo Filmed by Johannes Jost and Franz Fuhrmann at the Ballsaal Hobrechtsfelde, with the generous support of Saalkultur e.V. Audio by Cécille Lenoir at the Orchestre National d’Île-de-France. Praised by Christoph Eschenbach as an “extraordinarily musical and deeply emotional” player, Berlin-born cellist Johannes Przygodda made his orchestral debut at the age of eight at the Berlin Philharmonie and has since performed as a soloist with orchestras such as the Deutsche Sinfonie-Orchester Berlin, the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin, and the Badische Philharmonie. He is a founding member of the Quantum Clarinet Trio and appears regularly as a soloist and chamber musician at festivals around the world. He has performed at the Teatro La Fenice, the Elbphilharmonie, the Tokyo City Opera, the Seoul Arts Center, and the Wiener Musikverein, among others. Johannes is the founder of Musikfest Barnim (established in 2026), a concert series in his hometown. https://www.johannesprzygodda.com/ Canadian cellist Fiona Robson has a Master’s degree in cello performance from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris and a Bachelor of Music performance from McGill University’s Schulich School of Music. Particularly enamoured with string quartet playing, Fiona founded the Quatuor Magenta in Paris in 2021. The quartet quickly earned its place on top stages across Europe, and participated in the prestigious Bordeaux and Banff competitions in 2025. Fiona is also a member of the Duo Névé, with pianist Elsa Bonnet. Excited by the exploration of contemporary music, Fiona commissioned a new work for duo from Canadian composer Chris Goddard in 2023, which will be premiered in Europe by Duo Névé this season, and Quatuor Magenta’s first commission from composer Raphael Merlin was premiered at the Philharmonie de Paris in January and will soon be released on video. https://www.fionarobson.com/ https://www.quatuormagenta.com/
