STARTING THE NORTH COAST 500 Jake, James & Paul are out to take on Europe’s No.1 Road Trip and experience the best things to do in this 5 Part Travel Series around Scotland. Who are Jamalon? Episode One is all about: EDINBURGH, Harry Potter & AXE THROWING AT WILDWOODZ (Munlochy / Inverness) FULL ROUTE ITINERARY Jake, James & Paul begin their Road Trip around the North Coast of Scotland. Starting in Edinburgh, heading to Inverness, through Munlochy, a bit of Dunrobin Castle, right up to John O’Groats. They then travel West through Durness, Thurso, Varrich, Castle Varrich, Tongue, Smoo Cave, Dunnet & Balakneil before turning South through the Scottish Highlands, ticking off Clashnessie and the Clashnessie Falls, Ullapool. Kylesku and the Bridge of Kylesku. We’re then in the Scottish Highlands before travelling of the NC500 Route to Skye, the Isle of Skye is a must if you have the time. We stay in Portree, travel to the Old Man of Storr & The Quiraing before leaving Skye and taking the Road through Glencoe, past Eilean Donan Castle on our route back to Edinburgh ITINERARY - DAY ONE ON THE NORTH COAST 500 Full Episode One Itinerary - How to do the NC500? Scotland’s North Coast 500 traditionally starts in Inverness, and you chose to go West or East first. (We chose East Coast first so that we could end with the Scottish Highlands & Skye) For those of you starting the Road Trip outside of Scotland, most of you will probably fly into, or drive up to, Edinburgh. Edinburgh - Things to See before the perfect NC500 Trip We saw Edinburgh Castle, the Royal Mile, The Elephant House Coffee Shop where JK Rowling wrote some of the Harry Potter Series, we visited the Harry Potter Shop on Victoria street in Edinburgh’s old town (Which for any Harry Potter fans out there, do it) We also went to Edinburgh Waverly, where they filmed Avengers Infinity War, and the Husnu Kebab House / Miss Katie Cucake on Cokburn Street, also in Old Town Edinburgh. Inverness - “Start” of the North Coast 500 Inverness is the traditional start of the NC500, we visited a few live music bars, tried a few local whiskys, had a walk along the river and also went for a curry. So Scottish of us, but it was great. We check into a little Hostel, there are loads about but book in advance if you’re doing the NC500 in high season (May - August) Wildwoodz - Things to do on the NC500 If you’re travelling with family or friends, this was great fun. Tomahawk & Axe throwing, Archery, Paint Ball, Laser Tag. Definitely hit up Wildwoodz if you want a great team activity. It’s also one of the top rated activities on Trip Advisor.
