The walk starts from Promenade Des Anglais then along Quai des Etats-Unis. The Castle Hill (Colline du Château) with great views of the city and the harbor can be reached by an elevator or stairs. From there, we continue to Cours Saleya and its market. Every Monday there's a bric-a-brac market but as one can see a lot of more valuable stuff was on sale as well. Continuing further in to the Old Town, we come to Place Rossetti with its church, several restaurants and its famous ice cream bar. Tourists and locals fill the narrow streets that continue from here. After 12 o'clock many restaurants start their lunch service. We head to a place serving local specialties. After a tasty meal we walk back along Promenade du Paillon, the recently built green area. The main shopping district in downtown Nice is actually pretty compact. From Place Masséna, almost everything is within a walking distance including the Nice Etoile mall on Jean Médecin. The tour ends at Place Magenta, a perfect spot for a coffee and people watching.
