UP 1983 (Heritage) Meets UP 5509 at Meredith, Illinois on 9-29-2011

UP 1983, the Western Pacific Heritage unit meets a westbound container train led by UP 5509. An EMD SD70ACe meeting a GE AC45CCTE. Waited for the UP 1983 for about three hours. It kept getting held up. Finally after waiting for about an hour at this location, I heard scanner chatter that indicated that 1983 would finally run past me. But as the train came into view to the west, I heard the defect detector to the east sound off. A westbound was approaching. And it would cover my shot of the 1983! So as both trains bore down on my location, I hurriedly grabbed my cameras and did a quick set up on the other side of the tracks. Luckily, the clouds had moved in preceding the forcasted rain, and a shot toward the south was doable. Thanks to Jason for the tip. His photo at DeKalb is here: http://flic.kr/p/arsBws
