Happier in Spain?

Happier in Spain?" is a journal of our Retirement Journey. Happier is a funny idea. We're already happy in Sandy Springs, GA. My wife is a Physician Assistant and loves her job and doesn't really want to leave it. I have a great job too but I can do it anywhere, with a laptop. We wanted to switch things up and keep those brain cells firing. So we're trading suburban life in Georgia for urban Malaga. In this video I take you through the thought process that got us to this point. We are several weeks from moving to Malaga with our dog. We'll send her ahead and meet her in Madrid. This video examines, "why Malaga?" There are many different environments in Spain. So many beautiful areas,-some with beaches, others, forests, rivers and mountains. Some towns are rural, others urban. Malaga just happened to have the blend of city, history, and culture we wanted. Great healthcare, safe streets, reasonably affordable lifestyle. No one is saying Malaga is better, it's just more of what we wanted in a smaller city on the ocean. Which city in Spain is best? The only answer is "many", depending on what YOU look for. We all have limited time. For me, it was looking at my hair turn white. I barely recognize myself. It's common to hear "old" people say something like "I'm too old to change..." or "I can't change..." but YOU CAN. You absolutely can change. So I encourage you to do some self reflection to decide if you are doing what it takes to be happy and headed in a healthy direction. If you are, congratulations, you have most people beat.
