The company also wanted flexibility to store both fly ash and cement. Dome Technology’s solution: two DomeSilos® that work with adjacent infrastructure. Each DomeSilo is 32.9 meters (108 feet) in diameter and 36.5 meters (120 feet) tall. These DomeSilos have a fly-ash capacity of 25,000 short tons each. Cement capacity is 32,000 short tons each. Pneumatic transport equipment conveys product from rail cars to the DomeSilos, loadout silos, and batch plant. Product stored in the DomeSilos is conveyed to loadout silos for truck loading. Alternately, fly ash and cement can be transported from the rail cars to the on-site batch plant. Bulked-up capacity allows Bridgesource to store fly ash and cement year-round. The company receives product when demand is low and distributes it when demand increases. The DomeSilos’ unobtrusive design fits in well in the surrounding area.
