Ruksin Celebrates Donyi-Polo Day with Inauguration of Donyi-Polo Kumko Building IPAK DIYUM Ruksin, Dec. 31:-The auspicious occasion of Donyi-Polo Day was celebrated with great devotion and cultural fervour at Ruksin today, marked by the inauguration of the Donyi-Polo Kumko building. The sacred structure was formally inaugurated by the Hon’ble Member of Parliament (Eastern Arunachal Pradesh), Shri Tapir Gao, who graced the programme as the Chief Guest. The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Shri Kiran Ninggo, ADC Ruksin; Shri Tanon Tatak, President, ABK, Shri Odhuk Tabing, DDSE; Shri M. Tayeng, DACO; Retired Group Captain Mohanto Pangging Pao, Er. Jorsing Moyong, Executive Engineer, RWD; Er. Taring Darang, Chief Engineer, Urban Development; Shri Sunil Sivkumar, Organising Secretary, ABVP, along with the newly elected Zilla Parishad Members (ZPMs) of Ruksin. The Donyi-Polo Kumko building has been funded by the Department of Indigenous Affairs during the financial year 2024–25 and executed by the RWD Pasighat Division. The land for the Kumko was generously donated in 1996 by Late Talem Jonnom and Late Yapang Jonnom, whose contribution was gratefully remembered on the occasion. The programme began with a welcome address by Shri Taying Jerang, General Secretary, Ruksin Donyi-Polo Yelam Kebang, followed by a spiritually uplifting opening dance performed by the Donyi-Polo Ane Group, adding cultural vibrancy to the celebration. During the event, the Chief Guest and other dignitaries were felicitated, and special honours were also accorded to the elders, children, and youths of Ruksin Gangging who have been actively participating in regular prayers and contributing to various developmental activities of the Gangging. Addressing the gathering, MP Shri Tapir Gao, ADC Shri Kiran Ninggo, ABK President Shri Tanon Tatak, and Er. Jorsing Moyong extended their heartfelt greetings on Donyi-Polo Day and lauded the collective efforts of the community. They particularly appreciated Shri Omir Tatin, President, Ruksin Donyi-Polo Yelam Kebang, for successfully organising the celebration. The Ruksin Donyi-Polo Yelam Kebang also expressed sincere gratitude to Er. Naring Darang for generously sponsoring all presentations and mementos for the occasion.
