Play Eschatos, and try it on Original Hard, the intended way. Everything is balanced around it. (Later on change it to your liking but at least try this mode, it's awesome! :D) Some notes: SCORING: Fully destroying a wave adds x1 to the multiplier, but every enemy leaving the screen or ship lost reduces it by x1. It's quite punishing, but makes the game much more engaging. Just do it for fun and go for light scoring (until you inevitably get hooked heh). There's also a bonus for speedkilling waves, so abusing your shield defensively isn't the best way (nor the most fun). It's also the most powerful weapon, get close and personal! An aggressive playstyle is the way here! (^.^) SECRETS: There are 7 wonderwitches worth 1k, 2k, 4k, 8k, 20k, 50k & 100k (they increase their value as you get more) in areas 4, 9, 13, 16, 20, 22 & 25. And a 80k bonus for killing every enemy in the Space Invaders section. Your multiplier is applied to all these values, adding up to 4M+ to the score! F-BOMBS are time-based, use this to your advantage. Whenever I delayed some kills in this video I was trying to spawn them at specific moments critical for my route. Otherwise I'd risk dying or losing a lot of multiplier. 0:00 STAGE 1 1:41 Wonderwitch #1 3:31 STAGE 2 5:11 Wonderwitch #2 7:36 STAGE 3 8:34 Wonderwitch #3 12:22 STAGE 4 13:12 Wonderwitch #4 15:25 Space Invaders 16:30 Wonderwitch #5 19:46 STAGE 5 21:24 Wonderwitch #6 24:50 Wonderwitch #7 25:36 Last Boss Bloom and shadow EFFECTS are turned off in this run. The former looks pretty but makes dodging harder at some points and the latter is a bit annoying and distracting in this version because they added weird (coloured) shadows for the bullets. I don't think the original version had those shadows, only for enemies and structures.
