Hello and welcome to a new video from Mr and Mrs Old Hiking Geezer. I have a feeling that this video may be controversial as it is heavily based on my own experiences and observations. It is produced to assist the visitor to Ireland, especially the visitor from England but, hopefully, anyone may get something from it. Why from an English point of view? We have lived in Ireland since 2022 but I originate from the east of England so my formative years were spent there. Before anyone points it out, I am fully aware that Scottish and Welsh villages are different but I cannot cover all bases in this one video. So, do I think that Irish villages and towns are better than their English equivalent? No, of course not. They are simply different. Do I think that the Irish way of life is better? Again, no. The Irish way suits us better but I understand that this isn’t the same for everyone. What I am saying is that you should come and experience Ireland away from the main tourist areas, absorb the culture and find out what makes us, the Irish locals (and I now include us as Irish locals), tick.
