We know its not yet possible to play together at the same time over the internet because of the differences in latency even with the best equipment and connection speeds. But it is possible to have an authentic chamber music experience, even remotely. If we can layer recordings without sacrificing the ability to listen to the other parts, we can react to phrasing and do rubato together. There was a process for the creation of this video that I would like to share with students, professional musicians, and teachers in the interest of keeping the art of chamber music alive during the pandemic.
