Here's a demonstration of the game play on a 1974 Sky Kings pinball machine. In HD and everything! This machine was made by Bally and features two captive balls, a spinner, a kick-out hole and a couple of mushroom targets. Pretty fun game in spite of the lackluster reviews it tends to receive. It's neat to get a rhythm going from one captive ball to the next -- hitting the captive ball just right drops the ball perfectly into the in-lane to line up the shot to the other captive ball. Once you've found the sweet spot on the flippers, you can nail the captive ball one one side, then the other, repeatedly. The spinner shot up the middle is pretty satisfying and I like the old-school Bally mushroom targets. That's a feature that the company used extensively throughout the 60's but got away from in the 70's. This machine was designed by Jim Patla with artwork by Dick White. It's the single player version of Bally's Champ, which is the 4-player model.
