Is Glowstringing Poi?

Glowstringing has an awful lot in common with poi spinning and has definitely be an influence on it--should glowstringers be thought of as poi spinners and should glowstringing itself be thought of as a school of poi performance? That's the question that's been posed to me ever since I uploaded my video on the 6 Schools of Poi (which you can check out here:    • The 6 Schools of Poi Spinning  ) and I've had cause recently to re-examine the question. I've asked around and done a bit of research myself and the best answer I can come up with is...it's complicated. Let's dive in and talk both about some of the reasons both for and against the inclusion of glowstringing in the poi family tree as well as some of the thornier issues around it involving consent and cultural respect.
