→ Join me as we race the sunset back to Denver! (Sadly, light travels a whole lot faster than this plane, so we lost.) But nonetheless, we still have the best seat in the house aboard United's 'Long Dong Express' — the Boeing 757-300! We originally, this day was supposed to be spent on a bunch of 777's between Las Vegas and United's west coast hubs, but there weren't any seats available on the last 777 to San Francisco. However, who can complain with this nearly empty 757 with the best engine view around? Anyway, we begin at LAS's gate D52 and push back. We do a single engine taxi to runway 26R, starting the second one up halfway there. We roll onto runway 26R and set power, giving us an awesome engine roar! This light bird soars off into the afternoon sky, turning slowly to the east. The power cut mid-climb out is music to any av-geeks ears. As we head east, we fly over the southern tip of Nevada, the state of Utah nd into Colorado, where we get engulfed in the night. As we cross over the Rockies, the air gets rocky, bouncing the wings like they were trying to takeoff themselves! As we navigate our way towards DIA, we see the city lights of Denver and their suburbs. Shortly after, we land roughly on Denver's runway 35L. The only bad part about arriving early is gate availability — of which there was none. So, we were forced to sit and wait until our gate opened up. After a few minutes, we were cleared into our gate, gate B37, where this flight comes to a close.
