When you arrive at the office and are checked in, you'll go over the surgical plan with the doctor in a pre-op room. After that it's into the surgical suite where you'll be safely put to sleep by the anesthetist. Once the surgery is complete, you'll wake up in the recovery room and remain there until the anesthesia has fully worn off. At that point, you'll be ready to go home where you'll need someone to remain with you for the first 24 hours. Keep your wrappings and surgical bra on during that time; until the doctor can check on your status the day after surgery. It's Dr Dunkley from Envision Cosmetic Surgery. Here's what you can expect the day of your breast augmentation surgery. You'll come to our office since we have an in-office operating suite. A staff member will check you in and bring you to the pre-operative room. Avoid eating or drinking for at least 6 hours prior to your surgery and bring your prescriptions in case one is needed before you leave. You and I will review our plan and you'll meet my surgical team. From there you go into the operating room where our anesthetist will safely get you to sleep. When you awake from surgery you should be relatively comfortable. We'll move you to the recovery room where you'll stay until the anesthesia has worn off and it's safe for you to go home. You'll need someone to take you home and be with you for the first 24 hours. Your surgical bra and dressing should stay on until you're seen the next day.
