Here is a tutorial good for beginners on how to crochet a flat circle. For this crochet, you can make your circle bigger or smaller. You may increase the size of the circle by increasing the numbers of your stitches. In this tutorial, you may stop at round 4 or proceed to round 6 or even higher if you want the circle to be bigger. Just add 12 stitches on every round. If you wish to go for round 6, you may follow this pattern: 2dbc, 1dbc, 1dbc, 1dbc, 1dbc and repeat and you will have 72 stitches. Just make sure you include the 3 chains as the 1st stitch. You may use different hooks depending on the thickness of your chosen yarn. The thinner the yarn, you need a smaller size of the hook. The thicker the yarn, you need to use a bigger size of the hook. You may also use a bigger hook if you wish it to be a little bit loose or a smaller hook to make it a bit tighter.
