BlueBolt VFX Breakdown - True Detective: Night Country
BlueBolt delivered 163 VFX shots for the critically acclaimed fourth series of HBO’s crime drama anthology True Detective: Night Country to support the eerie, dramatic narrative. Set (and shot) mainly at night time the Emmy-nominated VFX work required a high level of realism. BlueBolt’s work was focused on invisible environments including a large mine with CG buildings and all outdoor facilities, grounds and vehicles; a frozen CG shipwreck in the Arctic - for which the team built a completely new shipwreck to take over from a partial set piece; a gruesome open head wound with realistic bone/skull and gore work, in addition to a range of 2D enhancements including snow, frozen breath shots, set extensions of shafts, collapsed ice tunnels and a destroyed mine entrance, as well as smoke addition and de-aging. #vfx #vfxbreakdown #truedetective #truedetectivenightcountry #VFXbreakdowntruedetectivenightcountry
