This historical ballad tells the story of how Yamatohime-no-mikoto founded Ise Shrine in 4 BCE. Verse 1 To the great hall I am summoned I kneel deep and I hear the words of divinity My father-emperor bestows upon me A sacred purpose, "Build a shrine for Amaterasu" Chorus In the sacred waters I cleanse my body and soul In silence I walk the sacred path In reverence I bow and bring my hands together In gratitude I thank Amaterasu for peace and life Verse 2 With my sister I set out on the search Together we walked the land Our hearts burning with divine purpose Determined to find the sacred home Chorus In the sacred waters I cleanse my body and soul In silence I walk the sacred path In reverence I bow and bring my hands together In gratitude I thank Amaterasu for peace and life Verse 3 Everywhere we went in this great land We made a home for the goddess Dozens of shrines across our nation Bringing the light of Amaterasu Chorus In the sacred waters I cleanse my body and soul In silence I walk the sacred path In reverence I bow and bring my hands together In gratitude I thank Amaterasu for peace and life Verse 4 Twenty years came and went in our search Then one day we came upon a great river And I could hear the voice of Amaterasu “Here in Ise, near the mountains and the sea, I wish to live” Chorus In the sacred waters I cleanse my body and soul In silence I walk the sacred path In reverence I bow and bring my hands together In gratitude I thank Amaterasu for peace and life Verse 5 I built her the final shrine The most sacred site in our nation Here we shall forever honor her The bringer of light, Amaterasu Chorus In the sacred waters I cleanse my body and soul In silence I walk the sacred path In reverence I bow and bring my hands together In gratitude I thank Amaterasu for peace and life Concept & Lyrics: Toshiro Music & Vocals: Suno Illustrations: OpenAi Translation & Writing Assistance: Grok
