A Prayer for Waiting on God | Isaiah

Are you in a season of waiting on God? Trust that the Lord will renew your strength as you wait on Him. In Isaiah 40:31 (ESV), the Word of God says: "But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint." Waiting on God can be challenging, but it is an essential part of walking with Him. As J.I. Packer reminds us: "Wait on the Lord" is a constant refrain in the Psalms, and it is a necessary word, for God often keeps us waiting. He is not in such a hurry as we are, and it is not His way to give more light on the future than we need for action in the present or to guide us more than one step at a time. When in doubt, do nothing, but continue to wait on God. When action is needed, light will come. What should our posture be while waiting on the Lord? It’s not worry, anxiety, or doubt—it’s awe and reverence. God is good before the wait, during the wait, and when His will is fulfilled.
