Just Resin - Resin Art - The Making Of Rhapsody {Part Two ~ Clear Coat} Just Resin Custom Art Board: 1800 x 2600mm, JR Art Resin & painters tape. Rhapsody is a two layer commission piece standing a huge 2.6m (102in) tall and 1.8m (70inch) wide. The JR team applied a coloured base by brush to achieve more depth within the piece. The base was allowed to dry over two days, then the resin was poured. Colours used: Aluminium Powder, Candy Ocean Blue, Basic Blue, Basic Turquoise, Basic White, Candy Navy Blue, Blue/Green/Gold colour shift ink, Transparent White, Transparent Blue, Sky Blue ink. A clear coat was then poured to create more depth within the piece. Tape is removed at approx the 40minute mark into curing (time frame is dependant on ambient temperature, you need the resin to be tacky). The reason why we tape up the side's, is as JR Art Resin is a low viscosity resin, and this is to minimise slippage, dimples, scarring, and allows for a thick coat to be poured to add another level of depth.
