Home charging is often the simplest, as most EVs come with a charge cable to connect to a regular household power point, typically offering around 2kW output. But this can take a LONG time, but plugging in overnight for daily top-ups can provide enough power for regular use, especially with solar power to offset costs. However, off-street parking is crucial for this convenience; without it, users may need to consider alternatives like public chargers or risk being fined if they have an extension cable crossing the foot path or sidewalk. So, the other options include an AC wallbox at home or work, usually delivering 7kW of power, which cuts charging time to around 7 hours for a typical battery. For the fastest charge, DC fast public chargers provide up to 350kW, allowing a significant 10-80% recharge in as low as 20 minutes. However, these chargers are the most expensive option and often require an app and account setup before use.
