Wiped film distillation is utilized to separate thermally sensitive products under vacuum and offers higher throughput than traditional bench top short path systems. The evaporation surface combines the benefits of 316 Ti AISI stainless steel with vertical concentric glass cylinders. These materials form the double mantled molecular still and are heated with circulating thermal fluid. The incoming crude product is spread to a thin film on the inner surface of the evaporator by means of rotating PTFE roller elements. The condenser is vertically arranged in the center of the glass evaporator, also tempered by liquid flow, to reduce the distance vapors must travel and prevent any pressure losses from a large transfer space.
