NCCN Marks 30 Years of Improving Cancer Care: Oncology Policy Program

In 2009, NCCN launched programs that grew into the Oncology Policy Program, which works to ensure use of NCCN Guidelines in health policy and coverage determination and facilitates patient access to high-quality, guideline-concordant care. NCCN’s Policy & Advocacy Department engages at both the federal and state level to advance legislative and regulatory priorities that will improve access to guideline concordant care and the overall quality of cancer in the United States. NCCN actively works with regulatory agencies, payers, and legislators to ensure the appropriate use of NCCN Guidelines and associated clinical content in legislation, regulation, coverage policy, and quality and value programs. NCCN also hosts a series of three Policy Summits each year, which explore relevant issues in the oncology policy space. Hear more from: John W.
