The Daily Flash - Jack Of Diamonds …1966 This track sounds like it was way ahead of it’s time, it sounds like 70’s/80’s punk to me.…..The Daily Flash was an excellent rock/folk rock/psychedelic band that was active from 1965 – 1967, and then reformed in 2002. The band was originally based in Seattle, Washington and later in Los Angeles, California. Their sound was an eclectic blend of rock, folk, psychedelic pop and jazz which set them apart from other bands in the Pacific Northwest. The song featured in this video, “Jack Of Diamonds, is the B-side of their first 45 with the A-side being a cover of Bob Dylan’s “Queen Jane Approximately”. The band released only two singles in their short existence, one in 1966 on the Parrot record label and one in 1967 on UNI Records, and by 1968 the band had split up. The original Daily Flash line-up was composed of Steve Lalor - guitarist/singer, Doug Hastings - lead guitarist, Don MacAllister - bass guitarist/singer and drummer Jon Keliehor. … In 1980 RON, Moxie records reissued both of their 45s on an EP and in 1984, Psycho Records released an LP of their music as well. Also, in 1996 Sundazed Records released an Ep of some of their recordings.
