Angela and Nick show you how to make this delicious and savory sweet bread from Epcot World Showcase. Recipe: 2 cups water 1 packet dry yeast 1/2 stick butter, melted 2 tsp cardamom 1 whole egg 1 pound flour, plus 1 cup 8 ounces shredded coconut 12 ounces custard, or 1 packet vanilla pudding 1 cup confectioners sugar Add yeast and lukewarm water to mixer. Add cardamom, sugar, butter and egg. Add half pound flour and mix 1 minute using paddle attachment. Replace paddle attachment with dough hook, add half pound flour, mix on medium for 5 minutes. While mixing, add remaining flour 1/3 cup at a time. Roll onto a floured surface and need into a ball. Let rise for 45 minutes. Roll dough into a log shape and cut into 5 ounce pieces. Roll each piece into a ball and place on a parchment lined baking sheet. Let proof 20 minutes. Add egg wash and bake at 375 degrees for 15-20 min. Let cool completely. Mix confectioners sugar with 2 tbsp water and whisk into a smooth glaze. Once cooled, poke hole in bread. Dip into glaze and roll into coconut. Fill with custard /pudding. Custard 14 oz whole milk 1/3 cup sugar 1/2 tsp vanilla 4 egg yolks 3 tsp corn start Bring milk to a boil and remove from heat. Whisk egg yolks, sugar and vanilla together in a glass bowl. Place glass bowl over double-boiler and gradually add the hot milk to the egg mixture to temper the eggs. Once all milk is incorporated, whisk constantly over double boiler for 25 minutes or until custard reaches the desired consistency.
