AFDE has produced a video of our work on the Generating Station & Spillways Project at BC Hydro’s Site C Clean Energy Project. It shows the Progress through early January 2023, shortly after we returned to work from our Christmas break. The drone takes off from the Area-33 parking lot shortly after sunrise, with the Peace River Valley shrouded in the early morning fog and returns after a fly-through of our project. Along the way, panoramic views are interspersed with closeups featuring major work fronts, including: The Upstream Intakes and Spillways Headworks The Penstocks A flythrough of the Spillways Water passage structure A concrete pour on the Spillways Chutes Drilling of a Pile Shaft in the Tailrace by subcontractor Aecon Foundations supported by 4 Evergreen Resources Loading mixer trucks at the RMC Construction Materials concrete Batch Plant (679,896 m3 to date!) A flythrough of the Powerhouse, where Second Stage concrete operations (including Reinforcing steel placement by Nucor Harris Rebar) are underway The Approach Channel Area R-6 which houses our Site Services, Fabrication Shop, Equipment Maintenance, Electrical, Warehousing and laydowns.
