Zhangye Danxia Geopark (五彩丹霞国家地质公园) Famous for its stunning, multicolored rock formations. These caves house one of the world’s most significant collections of Buddhist art, featuring over 700 caves with intricate murals, statues, and manuscripts created between the 4th and 14th centuries Huoyan Mountains (火焰山) Known for their intense summer heat, the mountains can reach surface temperatures of over 70°C (158°F), making them one of the hottest places in China. Their reddish sandstone formations, shaped by erosion, give the appearance of flames under the sun. The mountains are famously mentioned in the classic Chinese novel Journey to the West, adding to their cultural significance Ancient city of Jiaohe - the remains of a historical national capital 交河古城 The city was built on a natural island between two rivers, which provided natural defenses. Constructed primarily from rammed earth, Jiaohe is one of the best-preserved earthen cities in the world. It was abandoned in the 14th century and remains a significant archaeological and historical site, showcasing the cultural exchanges between East and West. Tianshan Tianchi National Park. (天山天池) a scenic alpine lake located in the Tianshan Mountains, about 97 km northeast of Urumqi, Xinjiang, China. Situated at an altitude of approximately 1,910 meters, the lake is surrounded by snow-capped peaks, dense forests, and lush meadows, creating a breathtaking natural landscape. Historically, it was a place of worship and legend, often associated with Chinese mythology.
