Welcome to the first lecture of Computer Graphics (CSI 602) designed specifically for BSCS, BSIT, and BSSE students following the curriculum of GC University Faisalabad (GCUF) and Virtual University of Pakistan (VU). In this introductory lecture, we build a strong conceptual foundation of Computer Graphics and explore the three core processes that form the backbone of this subject: 🔹 1. Modeling We discuss how real-world objects are mathematically represented inside a computer system. The lecture explains geometric primitives, 2D & 3D object representation, wireframe models, surface modeling, and solid modeling concepts. Students will understand how shapes, structures, and environments are created before any visualization takes place. 🔹 2. Rendering This section explains how a 3D model is converted into a final 2D image. Key concepts such as lighting, shading, textures, color models, and camera perspective are introduced. The difference between real-time rendering and offline rendering is also clarified to help students connect theory with practical applications in games, movies, and simulations. 🔹 3. Animation In this part, we cover how motion is created in computer graphics. Topics include frame-by-frame animation, keyframing, interpolation, and the basic principles behind motion in digital environments. Students will understand how static rendered scenes are transformed into dynamic visual sequences. 📘 Course Relevance (CSI 602) Computer Graphics is a fundamental subject in computing disciplines. It plays a vital role in: Game Development Virtual Reality (VR) & Augmented Reality (AR) Simulation Systems Film & Media Production CAD/CAM & Engineering Design User Interface Design This lecture is carefully structured for BS-level understanding, focusing on conceptual clarity, exam preparation, and practical insight aligned with university syllabi. 🎯 Who Should Watch? BSCS, BSIT, BSSE students Students enrolled in CSI 602 Learners preparing for midterm or final exams Anyone interested in learning the fundamentals of Computer Graphics This lecture provides the conceptual roadmap for the entire course. Make sure to watch till the end to clearly understand how modeling, rendering, and animation are interconnected in the graphics pipeline. 📌 Don’t forget to like, share, and subscribe for the complete Computer Graphics (CSI 602) lecture series.
