WHEN WE LIFT UP OUR BANNER, “JESUS CHRIST”, VICTORY COMES TO US. 📖 Ex. 17:8-9 I will stand at the top of the hill, holding the staff of God in my hand. ✦ The Staff of God carried by Moses represents divine authority and power, Guidance and Protection, miraculous intervention, Testimony and Faithfulness, validation of leadership, judgement against enemies of God. 📖 V.11 Mose’s hands were connected to the Divine authority & Power og God. 📖 V.12-13 📖 V.15 ✦ The Banner Moses raised was the Lord, and the Key to victory was not Moses’ hands but the Banner (The Lord Himself). NAMES OF GOD IS CONNECTED TO DIVINE AUTHORITY AND POWER. WHEN WE LIFT UP THE LORD AS OUR BANNER, WE GET CONNECTED TO GOD’S DIVINE AUTHORITY AND POWER. GOD’S NAMES SHOWS WHO GOD IS. 1. YHWH/ YAHWEH: Yahweh means “LORD”. The Word “Yahweh” is too sacred to be uttered by sinful man. The name YAHWEH specifies an immediacy, a presence. Yahweh is present, accessible, near to those who call on Him for deliverance (📖 Ps.107:13), forgiveness (📖 Ps.25:11) and guidance 2. EL, ELOAH - Mighty and Strong God 3. ELOHIM – God, the “Creator, Mighty and Strong” Spoke the world into existence. THE NAMES OF GOD IS CONNECTED TO GOD’S DIVINE AUTHORITY AND POWER. 1. EL SHADDAI - “God Almighty,” “The Mighty One of Jacob. EL SHADDAI IS God’s ultimate power over all. 2. ADONAI – “Lord” or "Master” 3. YAHWEH-JIREH - "The Lord Will Provide" 4. YAHWEH-RAPHA - "The Lord Who Heals”. (📖 Ex.15:26) – “I am the Lord who heals you” both in body and soul. In body, by preserving from and curing diseases, and in soul, by pardoning iniquities. 5. YAHWEH-NISSI - "The Lord Our Banner” 6. YAHWEH-M'KADDESH - "The Lord Who Sanctifies, Makes Holy”. God makes it clear that He alone, not the law, can cleanse His people and make them holy. WHEN WE HONOUR GOD BY LIFTING UP THE BANNER, “LORD”, VICTORY IS GUARANTEE. ✦ When you Life the names of God, you get connected to the Divine Strength and Power of God. 9. YAHWEH-M'KADDESH - "The Lord Who Sanctifies, Makes Holy”. 10. YAHWEH-SHALOM - "The Lord Our Peace” 11. YAHWEH-ELOHIM - "LORD God”. 12. YAHWEH-TSIDKENU - "The Lord Our Righteousness”. 13. YAHWEH-ROHI - "The Lord Our Shepherd”. 14. YAHWEH-SHAMMAH - "The Lord Is There”. 15. YAHWEH-SABAOTH - "The Lord of Hosts (The Lord is an army 📖 Nahum 2:13). Yahweh-Sabaoth expresses the majestic, power, and authority of God and shows that He is able to accomplish what He determines to do. THE KEY TO OUR VICTORY IS LIFTING UP THE BANNER, THE LORD OUR GOD. 16. EL ELYON - “GOD Most High” 17. EL ROI - "God of Seeing” (The God who see). 18. EL-OLAM - "Everlasting God”. 19. EL-GIBHOR - “Mighty God”. ✦ The Names of God describe the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. ✦ Yahweh is the only true God, the God of Israel, the God of Nations, the God of Samoa. THE SINFUL WOMAN’S WORSHIP. 📖 Luke 7:37-38 BECAUSE OF WHO JESUS WAS TO HER, SHE GAVE JESUS ALL THE GLORY. “When a certain immoral woman from that city heard he was eating there, (1) she brought a beautiful alabaster jar filled with expensive perfume (She brought her best to Jesus). 38 (2) Then she knelt behind him at his feet, weeping.
