You'd be amazed how few images there are of people spraying lit matches with butter spray on the internet. Zero that I could find, to be exact. Lighting and shadows were two of the main features I wanted focus on, but the fire took up most of my time. Because of the aforementioned lack of adequate photo reference, things like fireballs and fire-breathers had to stand in for ref. The main goal was to capture the billowing, glowing nature of fire. Honestly, if I went back, I could think of so much to add, but eventually, one has to stop. Once more, Pyro wearing that hat because, as much as I like Pyro's design, I really don't like the shape of his/her head. The Head Warmer, I believe it was called, creates a very nice silhouette.
