Presentation of "Science is a Superpower," project by Museums Victoria. IN 2024 the project won the , which won the Museums and Galleries National Awards (MAGNA) - Moving Image Award. Science is a Superpower is a modular online video series and website designed to build interest and confidence in STEM amongst young women, girls and non-binary students portraying science as relevant to their own aspirations. Each video is themed around a 21st century skill which is illustrated within the framework of science and empowers the viewers to use the skills in their everyday lives. To date 10 episodes have been released on YouTube and another 120 videos have been created for release across other social and online channels aiming to reach as broad an audience as possible. To date videos have achieved more than 3.2 million views. Presented by Richard Greenhalgh, Manager, Digital Content Studio, Museums Victoria Richard is the Manager of the Digital Content Studio at Museums Victoria where he manages a team who specialise in the creation of digital stories in their many and varied iterations looking for ways to broaden the scope of how those stories are told and published. Richard is an advocate of technology as a means of democratising production and distribution and allowing a greater breadth of narrative voices to be heard.
