Steamed Chocolate Cupcake ✔️Ingredients 1 whole egg (large) 1 cup white sugar (200g) 1 tsp vanilla extract (5ml) 1/3 cup veg. oil (80ml) 1 cup fresh milk (240ml) 1 & 1/2 cups all purpose flour (200g) 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder (50g) 1 tsp baking powder (5g) 1 tsp baking soda (5g) 1/2 tsp salt (3g) Procedure: 1. In a mixing bowl, combine the egg, sugar, vanilla, oil and milk. Whisk until just smooth. 2. Sift together and add-into the wet mixture the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Mix until just combined and smooth. 3. Place cupcake liner on a foil cupcake holder. Fill each cupcake liner with cake batter half-way. 4. Boil water over medium heat in a steamer pot. Once it boils, reduce to low heat. (Steaming on excessive or high heat can cause cupcake to puff and crack on top.) 5. Place the cupcakes in the steamer. Steam over low heat for about 25 mins. Check doneness by inserting skewer/toothpick and it should come out clean. *Recipe yields 16 pieces on size 2oz cupcake liner. Looking for more recipes?
