There has not been a lot to get excited about when it comes to Wisconsin football in year 2 of the Luke Fickell era. The offense has been such a disaster that Fickell chose to fire Offensive Coordinator Phil Longo following their 16-13 loss to the Ducks at Camp Randall. While a lot of people have lost hope in the future of the Badgers program under Fickell, what is going under the radar is how Fickell is putting together the best recruiting class in Wisconsin history during the modern era. The highlight of the class may be a young quarterback out of Florida who was visiting Madison during said Oregon game who committed to the Badgers last weekend and looks to be the future of the program due to his athletic ability and great arm. That player is 4-star quarterback Carter Smith. I know this video is coming out a little late but I wanted to talk about Smith’s backstory and what he brings to the Badgers.
