Join this channel to get early access to new videos a week ahead of their public release:    / @rorymacve   Hello everyone! :D In the face of the Austin FX4 Black Cab's aging design, a variety of competitors would emerge to attempt a replacement for this icon of the British public transport scene, perhaps the closest to success being the Metro Cammell Weymann Metrocab of 1987, a taxicab that would emerge after 17 years of gestation and development. However, while the Metrocab delivered a perfectly capable machine that suited the new desire for accessible public transport, behind the scenes troubles with MCW, alongside adaptations to the FX4 which created the more liveable LTI Fairway, meant the Metrocab would never reach its potential, and soon disappeared into obscurity while the LTI would spawn various descendants that would continue to dominate the London taxi scene for decades to come.
