Cornea foreign body: rust removal with Alger brush 1/5/2021

1/5/2021 Posted with patient approval. Patient was using a metal grinder without eye protection on a quick project around 12/25/2020 and felt something get into his left eye. Unfortunately, he was not able to get any care until today after experiencing severe pain and discomfort the past couple of days. Rust will form around any iron metal embedded in cornea and contaminate the tissue. Must be removed as much as possible. The cornea was was prepared with proparacaine topically. Alger brush was utilized. Air optix night and day contact lens was used post operatively. Will follow up with post op pictures or video if available.
