More info, read here. Skin Illustrator FX Palette: http://shrsl.com/12nmb * Ben Nye Ultimate FX Palette: I got the Ben Nye Ultimate FX palette for Christmas and haven't had a chance to use it yet. I decided to try it out in direct comparison with the Skin Illustrator. Granted, I've had a year of experience using the Skin Illustrator and not much with Ben Nye's palette, so I have a bias, and find the Skin Illustrator easier. That being said, Ben Nye's palette (creme makeups in general) are good for sensitive areas like around the eye. It's like the creme version of skin illustrator with blood tones, aged blood, bruising, vein tones, sunburn, etc. It's got more colours than the Skin Illustrator (18 colours), it retails for more than the skin illustrator in the US ($80 vs $75), but is cheaper than Skin Illustrators in Australia, because Scottys Beauty Supply stocks Ben Nye for only $85, and skin Illustrators here are $115. It looks like you can get the Ben Nye from FXWarehouse in the states. Scottys Beauty in Australia. My initial experience so far: Skin Illustrator Pros: -Easy to blend -Easy to fix mistakes (use more 99% IPA and a fresh makeup sponge) -Stays on skin for a long time / won't rub off -Transparent layers make it look more realistic, as though it's actually under the skin Cons: -99% IPA can be irritating/drying to skin, and therefore can't be used around the eyes or sensitive skin Ultimate FX palette pros: -Lots of colours -Gentle on skin and can be used around eyes -Can use IPA to help blend it out Cons: -Not as transparent or easy to blend as Skin Illustrator -Needs to be set with powder Pro tip: use a clean makeup sponge and blend after every colour, and work in layers. I bought the Skin Illustrator over a year ago myself, and asked for Ben Nye for a Christmas present from my family. I'll let you guys know if that ever changes. _______________________ S O C I A L M E D I A Support the channel on Patreon | / freakmo Instagram | / freakmofx Facebook | / freakmofx New Google + page | https://plus.google.com/+Freakmo Twitter | / freakmofx Snapchat | Freakmo Periscope | FreakmoMy favourite FX Brushes: http://goo.gl/DTX2X0 (affiliate link)
