Beat Farmers - Lucille (Music Video) This is the iconic cover of the classic "Lucille" by Country Dick Montana and the Beat Farmers. This live footage of the Beat Farmers was shot in 1992 at the Belly Up Tavern in San Diego, California. The original audio was poor, so I synced the video with the live recorded version on the album, "Loud, Plowed, and Live". Country Dick passed away in 1995 and I miss the hell out of him. My old band, Peace Corp, had the pleasure of sharing the stage with the Beat Farmers on many occasions back then and all those guys, down to their manager and roadies were sincere and awesome to hang with! One of the craziest memories I have of Dick was when our bands played a show together in Pasadena at Toes Tavern. We were told when we arrived that the Beat Farmers had to cancel because Country Dick had emergency throat surgery. Apparently, he had cancer and they had to cut it out. Well, we set up prepared to play the entire night filling both slots for the crowd when the Beat Farmers showed up lead by Country Dick saying that a neckfull of staples, stitches and saran wrap wasn't gonna keep him from having a good time! They played an entire set without Country Dick missing out on a single beer or cigarette... It was around that time that Country Dick gave our band Peace Corp one of the highest compliments we could have ever asked for when he said, "Beavis and Butthead would love those guys!"
