Real Sega Mega Drive hardware recording of my original song "Five Four beat morning routine". Recorded from a PAL Model 1 (va6.8 motherboard revision). Tools used: A computer Furnace Tracker Deadfish VGM play convert USB stick Sega Mega Drive model 1 console Mega Everdrive PRO cartridge MicroSD card A television EzCap audio capturer Audacity Capcut A Youtube account Composer: Emilie S As told earlier, when I was in Japan I got a beat in my head. A 5/4 time signature beat. I recorded it with my mouth into voice recorded to not forget it, and added a few bass tones and additional organs and brass hits as I started to hear a full arrangement in my head. Also the refrain came to me, in a harmony of three layers with some kind of jazzy G minor 11 chord to start, going down, and a little bit offbeat or polyrhythmic so to speak compared to the main beat. When I came back home I listened to my recordings and made the start of the song in Furnace Tracker, but I didn't really "feel it". So the song has been on hold since then. But yesterday and today I got some inspiration and finished it. It's a bit different. People that are only used to hearing 4/4 beats might either be annoyed or thrilled by the time signature. Let's see!
