Today we're going to learn the difference between organic and inorganic growth. Let's look at Apple for example. Organic growth comes from a company's existing business and grows from internal inventing, investing and performance. Apple is one of the highest growing companies because of its ability to invest in itself and produce more cutting-edge items, always keeping itself relevant. Inorganic growth comes from mergers or acquisitions. Both Apple and Beats by Dre produce headphones. In 2014 Apple bought Beats. Why? Companies acquire one other to improve, consolidate, accelerate, economize, lower costs, and develop itself faster than it could on its own. Apple acquired Beats because it's cheaper for them to buy beats, than build their own headphones. Their acquisition was successful but only 30% usually are. Merging companies can be very difficult. Just remember that organic growth comes from working internally, and inorganic is absorbing another company to hopefully improve your own. #businessacumen #financialacumen #growth #organicgrowth #inorganicgrowth #beatsbydre #apple
