NOTE FROM TED: TEDx events are independently organized by volunteers. The guidelines we give TEDx organizers are described in more detail here: http://storage.ted.com/tedx/manuals/t... Atul Karwal, a man with many achievements and feathers on his cap, illustrates his experience of scaling Mount Everest and highlights the lessons that he learnt along the way. ‘Finding your Everest’ being a metaphor for identifying one's dreams, he passionately encourages every individual to pursue them while navigating the challenges that come along the way. Atul Karwal is an esteemed Indian Police Service officer of the 1988 batch, Gujarat cadre, with extensive experience in various roles across Gujarat and the Central Reserve Police Force. He’s the recipient of prestigious awards including the Police Medal for Meritorious Service and the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service. Recognized for his bravery, he's been honored with two Police Medals for Gallantry and other accolades like the Kathin Seva Padak and Parakram Padak. Additionally, he's an accomplished ultra-marathoner, a Half Ironman triathlon finisher, and a skilled martial artist. Notably, in 2008, he scaled Mount Everest, marking a remarkable achievement. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
